My tap threads are damaged inside the wall. What then?
The concealed elbow behind the tile has stripped, which no amount of sealing tape fixes. It needs the tile opened and the elbow replaced — a bigger job than a tap change, and one we will quote separately rather than tape over. Any plumber who says they can seal a stripped socket permanently is buying you a few weeks.
